“Miles to go before I sleep.”
Mubina is a young girl from Koppal district of Karnataka — the eldest of four siblings in an economically modest family. To support them, she moved to Bangalore in search of opportunity. As a physically challenged girl navigating a new city, the journey was anything but smooth. With help from a few non-profits, she slowly found her footing.
But Mubina is not a common girl — she is a girl with a huge dream: to play at the Paralympics. She is currently in professional training for wheelchair lawn tennis, a member of the Wheelchair Tennis Association, and attends practice regularly.
When we first met her during fieldwork, her guts and ambition left us speechless. Our board members backed her dream, and Mubina began an aspiring new chapter with REIN India Foundation. On a recent national tour to New Delhi — supported by REIN India — she finished runner-up.
In the words of Robert Frost, she has “miles to go before I sleep.” REIN India stands by this beautiful soul, every step of the way.
